Final Draft Plan

The final draft of the Fayetteville Comprehensive Plan is available for public review.  The public is invited to submit comments.  Members of the public can call Jesse Richardson at 304.293.9460 (Mon-Fri 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) or send written comments to Fayetteville Town Hall (125 North Court Street, Fayetteville, WV 25840) or email to  Christy DeMuth at christy.demuth@mail.wvu.edu

A public hearing on the final draft of the plan will be held on November 18th at 6:00 PM at the Fayetteville Town Hall.

September 23rd Planning and Zoning Board Meeting

The next Planning and Zoning Board meeting will be held on September 23, 2013 at the Town Hall at 6:00 PM.   The agenda is as follows:

1. Welcome and Introductions

2. Review of Open House Results

3. Review of Chapter 4: Action Plan

  • Prioritize Projects

4. Proposed Schedule

  • September 30th– 30 day public hearing notice period starts and notice must be published in the newspaper (Does not include weekends, state or federal holidays, and the day of the meeting). Final draft published on town website, plan website, and available at the library and town hall.
  • November 12th– 30 day notice period ends
  • November 18th- Planning and Zoning Board holds public hearing. During this hearing the board reviews comments received during the 30 day notice period, as well as any additional comments received during the hearing.  Immediately after the public hearing, the board then holds their regularly scheduled meeting.  At this meeting the board will decide whether to make any changes to the plan and whether to recommend the plan to the Town Council.
  • December 5th- Planning and Zoning Board presents recommended comprehensive plan to Town Council
  • January 2nd– Council holds public hearing.  Notice must be given 15 days in advance of the hearing.  During this hearing the council reviews comments received during the 15 day notice period, as well as any additional comments received during the hearing.  Immediately after the public hearing, council then holds their regularly schedule meeting.  At this meeting the council may either adopt, reject, or amend the comprehensive plan, or defer action.  Action must be taken within 90 days after submission of the recommended comprehensive plan or 3 scheduled meetings, whichever is later (March 6, 2014).

July 29th Planning and Zoning Board Meeting

The next Planning and Zoning Board meeting will be held on July 29th, 2013 at the Town Hall at 6:00 PM.   The agenda is as follows:
